CT has invested 200,000 engineering hours in developing the S-80 Plus Submarine. Currently, as well as providing engineering support, CT is in charge of managing production and is key in various areas of supporting the S-80 Program lifecycle.

CT has been one of the main strategic partners in the S-80 Program from the very beginning, with over a decade of experience participating in the project. This successful collaboration has been possible thanks to the know-how provided by the members of our team, who, on average have over 10 years of experience working on different submarine programs since 2000.

The most notable work carried out by CT in for the S-80 Program includes:

Engineering: spanning all of the core disciplines of naval engineering – structures, outfitting, piping, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and electrical – CT’s team has carried out activities involved with design, manufacturing and assembly plans, equipment layout, piping and cable routing supports, among others.

Our engineering work has been focused on the submarine’s first construction unit, but currently we are already working on engineering projects for the second construction unit.

Production Management: our work is structured in two main areas: Production Planning, where we are in charge of planning and control the manufacturing orders in the workshop and Subcontracting, where we take charge of the supply chain, manage providers and order requests to the auxiliary industry to cover production needs and the technical specifications of the supplies.

Lifecycle Support: highlighting CT’s experience in this area, and not just in the naval sector, for the S80 Program we are carrying out various activities that include defining maintenance tasks, managing spare parts, providing support for the configuration or identification of critical safety elements (known as SAFETY).

The Airbus A400M is a European four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft. It was designed by Airbus Defence and Space as a tactical airlifter with strategic capabilities to replace older transport aircraft, such as the Transall C-160 and the Lockheed C-130 Hercules. The A400M is between the C-130 and the Boeing C-17 in terms of size; it can carry heavier loads than the C-130 and is able to use rough landing strips. Along with the transport role, the A400M can perform aerial refuelling and medical evacuation when fitted with appropriate equipment.

We have a vast experience in providing support during the maintenance tasks of the A400M, overcoming challenges such as concurrent engineering, the industrialization of new processes for maintenance tasks and the standardization of methods and processes.

MRO support is crucial to the optimization of time and resources in A400M maintenance. Within the MRO support, we take charge of concurrence with other departments, graphical work instructions, workshop support, material analysis, tooling and industrial means to accomplish maintenance tasks, as well as configuration control. We also develop and update the programmed maintenance program per aircraft/fleet, and the work orders for maintenance tasks.

Our MRO technicians create and implement a wide range of documents to inform on corrective actions or systems and components improvement, such as:
Service Bulletin (SB), Vendor Service Bulletin (VSB), Service Information Letters (SILs), Operator Information Telex (OIT), All Operator Telex (AOT), Airworthiness Directive (AD), among others.

In order to help our customers more efficiently manage their fleets, CT has developed one of the most immersive and cost reducing tools available in the market.

We can help you to reduce time and costs spent on training and better maintain your fleet, by giving you direct access to all the information you need, such as logistics, technical manuals, maintenance management, historical maintenance and much more, all in a single tool.

You can manage, visualize and edit all this information directly from a web portal that can be accessed through a tablet or other AR device. Augmented or Virtual Reality applications can be used to guide technicians during maintenance tasks or to train them in a specific vehicle.

With your tablet or AR device you can overlap virtual information on a real vehicle that provides step by step instructions on how to do a specific maintenance task.

This application has also been developed for training purposes. You can see the different systems, their elements and navigate through them using Augmented Reality overlaid directly on the real vehicle.

You can also update the database directly through your handheld device, adding comments, pictures, or any other relevant information.

This tool was developed for a vehicle fleet in the military sector but can be easily be used in any other industry.

Since 2013, we have been working side by side with Airbus Defence and Space to develop the service bulletins for the A400M aircraft. These bulletins reflect our commitment to continuously improving our deliverables as well as the implementation of new technologies.

We have analyzed and defined the instructions required to implement any modification carried out on Service Fleet. Some of the biggest challenges that our service bulletins team has faced included the retrofit of the aircraft’s aluminum frame, the installation of GPS antennas, DASS UK and PODs, Retrofit campaign Step2 and Batch 3.1.

Our service bulletin management service begins by studying the problem, followed by defining the procedures that need to be implemented, as well as coming up with a technical solution and finally the creation of a service bulleting with authoring and illustrations. Managing service bulletins can be complex for various reasons, such as different airplanes versions, and the need to coordinate work with other departments in order to reach the best solution, as well as all ATAs involved.

As a result, we helped Airbus to define a procedure to identify the documentation applicable to each aircraft (by s/n), as well as procedures with technical instructions to implement solutions in each aircraft.
